The Brook Hospitals Sponsor Monthly PTSD Support Group in Fort Knox Area

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – (March 16, 2010) – The Brook Hospitals recently announced the addition of a post-traumatic stress disorder support group for military families in the Fort Knox area. The PTSD support group is held on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and is free to all military and their dependents. The support group will be led by Bruce Hey, licensed clinical social worker. Childcare will also be available.

“Post-traumatic stress disorder has become more prevalent in the military community and not only affects the Soldier, but their family as well. The Brook Hospitals are extending our reach to those individuals in the Fort Knox area who are seeking resources to help cope with the stress of combat and multiple deployments,” said Paul Andrews, Chief Executive Officer of The Brook Hospitals, Psychiatric Solutions, Inc. (PSI) facilities. “Our primary focus is to provide those Soldiers and their families with the help they need to readjust to civilian life.”

For six years, The Brook has provided clinical care for men and women who are currently serving, or have served, in the U.S. military. The Brook is one of eight facilities designated as a PSI Patriot Support Center, an expanded program to provide behavioral health services to military members and their families at PSI facilities around the country.

The support group will meet at Family Dynamics Behavioral Health Center at 299 West Lincoln Trail Blvd., Radcliff, Ky.
